My favorite mexican food in Sacramento and their micheladas are delicious

One of the best Mexican authentic food restaurants I been too! Hands down my fav for Sunday breakfast!

Food portions were huge but it just wasn't for me. It was a little bland yet gross. Could do with improvements. It used to be better.

Ordered menudo so don't k ow about other menu items. It was exceptionally fantastic! Be sure to specify if u want maiz with the tripe and pig feet. But yes very tasty

It is with a sad heart that Im changing my review from 5 stars to 1. This was my favourite Mexican restaurant anywhere near the Sacramento area, until I tried to do catering business with them. Four months of frustration at their inability to cash my deposit check, then refusal to respond to any communication, has ended my love of this family business. Yes, their food is amazing, but they'll never have my business again. I guess $1700 for catering and a lifetime of patronage just isn't that important.

I honestly don't know where to begin.. we walked in it smelled kinda bad. There was no waiter so we had to seat ourselves and wait for someone to notice us. They took an hour to give us our Orders and they didn't give us our food the same time we had to wait for each other to get our food to top it off they didn't give us the correct orders. Every time we asked the waiter what was happening with our meals she would ignore us and tell us that it was coming. But wait there more. There was a hair In one of the plates. Instead of giving us our money back the manager comes to the table saying that it wasn't the cooks because they were blonde and brunette? He didn't even apologize. They were just there inspecting the hair color.. Oh the bathrooms of were pretty disgusting point blank don't waste your money there I would not go again

Pretty good Mexican food and the staff is awesome. I'm always happy when we get food from here. The proportions are great and there is free chips and salsa with your order. I frequently get their carne asada super burrito and have never been disappointed.

Salsa Bar was good! Really good actually. Food was OK.. could use a little more salt/seasoning. Soda for the machine was pretty flat. Possibly out of CO2. Had to ask for ice. Overall experience wasn't bad, but could be improved.

I like that there portion are large, but the food could use some more seasoning.

I got 4 Carne Asada tacos the meat was horrible fatty and Unseasoned other than that everything was great

The tacos here are delicious and I would come back again for it. However the people working here weren't wearing masks properly the entire time so it's a little ?? during covid times. The ceviche tostada was also a little more expensive than most taquerias ($7) but it was still delicious but not completely worth it.

Authentic Mexican food! Order at counter and have a seat for service. Love love loved the Chili verde plate and jumbo blackberry margarita. Mariachi adds some atmosphere on a weekend to an otherwise homely establishment which I love. Simple but down to earth for good eats.

Large menu to choose from. In addition to the usual meat choices they have lengua (tongue), cabeza (head), and al pastor. The al pastor was the best I have had since my trip to Cabo San Lucas several years ago. Great music (maybe a little on the loud side), salsa bar, and freshly made tortillas right before your eyes just add to the authenticity of the experience. I recommend the crispy tacos and the al pastor.

It smelled delicious The staff very kind. People eating were smiling and conversing.Thankful I got to see it.

Order menudo today, my question is why there was no Hominy in it? I thought all menudo has Hominy.

Good food. Decently priced. Saw employees handle a horrid customer situation with grace and respect.

Posole is always good here. As a matter of fact everything is good here. We love this place.

Great place! We went with a group of 9 and all tried different things, everyone enjoyed their dish. The employees that helped us were very helpful and attentive. Awesome service. It was our first visit but we'll definitely be coming back!:)

If your Really Mexican then you know this food is really good!!! Only reason why it wasn't 4 stars was because salad serving was a little bit but overall. We got our food at great timing. Would recommend if your looking for something to eat that will get you full :)

Food is good, place is nice, but service is not all that great, much needed improvement in this area. There for, three stars sufficient for this restaurant.

Hi, I Love it The food dishes were Berry great. Exact prices to be fulled. I never seen Cafe De Olla(Coffee) served in a jarrito; they were Berry cute:) that I had to take a picture. Taqueria Maya's has amazing details of Mexico's Spirit. I recommend to the reader to try it.

Great place, good food, and fast service. Place was jumping on a saturday night but they were on top of it. The sopas were dope and everything was fresh. Would recommend to anyone.

I'm cool off this place. Food is always different everytime I order (not consistant), prices are way higher than a few other places near by, they're horchata is terrible, and customer service is whatever. In my last 3 visits I haven't been satisfied once. ✌

Really liked it here. Salsas were on point. Chips were fresh. And the burrito was big and delicious. We will be back.

The food is always amazing. On Sunday they have someone making tortillas and live music. The staff makes you feel welcome and at home. They also have free chips and salsa. This is by far the best tacos in Sacramento.

I generally enjoyed coming to this location. Unfortunately on my last visit my food was not even room temperature. Not sure I'll be coming back. Especially when a 2 Cheese enchiladas combination costs $14.

Really good food, a long list of Mexican dishes. Service is great. If you like real authentic Mexican food stop by Mayas Taqueria. Come give it a try. During covid they have a patio area that is open. They have a restaurant a few miles away-food is great there as well.

Everything has pork unless one especially requests food not to be made with pork lard. What is amazing is how this is not public information for their customers. They should make food with options available kosher and or vegetarian or at least give one that information. You can literally eat a vegetarian taco and eat refried beans in pork lard. Not fair. And eat beef cooked in the same grill as pork.

Good cheap hole in the wall joint for authentic Mexican.

A unique building and charming interior greet the visitor. Order up front at the counter, then have a seat anywhere you can find one. I went for Menudo and Michelada late on a Sunday afternoon and sat in the bar area. Large screen televisions, kept my attention as I waited for my order. The Michelada was well garnished and my choice of beers. The Menudo was great and the way I like it (without additional parts like pigs foot). The cost was higher than expected. I would like to visit again sometime and recommend Taqueria Maya.

The best part is the homemade tortillas made by a lady in the back. I took my parents here. My dad does not like spicy food and every time we order something, his food is always too spicy for him. Their potato tacos are my favorite. Their Mariachi band Los Gallos is the best Mariachi band I have heard in a long time.

Best margaritas I've had in awhile! I got the mango margarita pictured! They have a great Happy hourand super authentic Mexican food we make the drive from Lodi to Sacramento to eat here for dinner!

It was okay little to salty for my taste. I ordered nachos everything on it. Didn't have enough beans. The chips were good.

Great happy hour deals. I just bought two tacos and a michelada, and it was an inexpensive, delicious, and satisfying meal. If you need some tasty Mexican food, you should go here. The servers are really nice and professional. I highly recommend Maya's!

Authentic and delicious! We ordered the chile verde and tacos de papas dorados with dos equis amber! Perfecto!
